Honey C. Burg is the co-owner and operating manager of TLP, Co. Honey also works as a licensed Title Insurance Agent and Abstractor with TLP Title & Abstracting, and a Paralegal for Elder Advocacy with Somsen, Mueller & Franta.
Honey brings over twenty years of operations management and team leadership to our team, including 13 years in the finance industry with focuses in business development, lending, operations, and compliance. Most recently, Honey served as the Executive Director of Somsen, Mueller & Franta, PA, Attorneys at Law Since 1896, located in Southern Minnesota. She is certified in Paralegal Studies and Alternative Dispute Resolution, and is also experienced as a legal guardian, conservator, representative payee, and attorney in fact.
Honey is currently a student at Minnesota State University, completing a triple major including a B.A. in the combined study of Philosophy, Political Science & Economics with a Poli. Sci. emphasis, a B.S. in Applied Organizational Studies, and a B.S. in International Relations, with minors in Public Administration, Ethics, and Critical Thinking, and a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership.
Honey is a graduate of the BEC Citizens Academy, YWCA Elizabeth Kearney Leadership Development Program, a 3rd year in the EKLD Alumni Program, and a recipient of the Bush Foundation Events Scholarship for the 2017 PopTech Event. Community activities focus on advocacy in areas related to homeless and hunger prevention, and human and civil rights for underserved populations. She is the founder of ShareMankato and Trivium, a nonprofit organization that focuses on social welfare, regulation, and public service toward equal rights and access of underserved or vulnerable citizens.
Honey is a founding member of BNI Creating Connections Chapter in Mankato, MN. Honey is currently Vice-Chair for the Southern MN Chapter of SCORE, serves on the board for Appeals & Equalization for the City of Mankato, and is part of the Business Development Team for GreenSeam. Previous community activity includes positions such as Executive Committee for Habitat for Humanity of Southern Minnesota, the Regional Center for Entrepreneurial Facilitation, and Feeding our Communities Partners. She has contributed as a GMG Cavalier, Director for BNI MN, and a Director for MN Shorts "Pumps" 2017, and is an ongoing volunteer/donor/supporter for the local SBDC, SMIF, YWCA, and Junior Achievement.
